MC

MC

People, and that certainly includes me, always wonder why Waterloo gets in the news so often. To some extent, you could attribute the popularity to this mammoth building you see above.

Strategically placed in the heart of the campus, MC, or Math and Computing, is a fortress in its own wright. I like to think of this building as a tiny little microcosm that exhales mathematical results by the day. The building may look architecturally disgusting, but results are results.

Sadly though, it is my premonition that this building is slowly going to lose its appeal. Starting 2007, people won't be able to see the building from the main road anymore.

The grassy area right in front of MC is the site for a sprawling 225,000-square-foot new facility for Quantum Computing and Nanotechnology. A building just for us.
