Google

Google

Krishna and I made a quick trip to Google's offices. We sneaked in hoping there would be no security guards. Luckily there weren't. They have a really nice place — a microcosm of many different buildings that make it seem like a fantasy world.

Like a lot of people in Waterloo, I use Google's products and services pretty heavily. If Google went away I would be very sad.

It amazes me because I was telling Krishna how there was once a time when I used to use Google Search back in 2002/03 not even wondering where this service came from. I wouldn't have even dreamed of standing at their headquarters one day back then. But now it all makes sense. These are real people writing real code to make search happen.

I'm sure there's a ton of people in the Eastern world who take Google for granted and blindly consume their services without wondering about the engineering ingenuity that goes into all of this.
