Royal Ontario Museum

Royal Ontario Museum

Last Friday, I had a chance to visit the Royal Ontario Museum, just a couple meters above the Museum subway station. Entrance is free on Fridays after 4:30 PM, so there's always a good number of people at that time.

The inside of the museum itself was splendid. The artifacts themselves weren't what captured my attention; it was mostly how these artifacts were arranged and organized was what interested me more.

Like large libraries for instance. I rarely visit libraries to check out books. I'm mostly captivated by the silence, the inherent assumption that you're an academic worthy of merit, the cataloging of the books, the database systems that record each and every check in and so on and so forth.

Anyway, I was able to capture some interesting shots during my two-hour visit to the museum. Some shots could've been better had it not been for people constantly walking in front of my camera. If they're not doing that, they just wait for me to finish clicking. However, because I'm not simply doing a simple point-and-shoot, I find it discomforting to make people stand for as long as two minutes until I've framed my shot. So I end up motioning them to move along while I try and find a less crowded spot.
